Philosophy
Science, Technology, and Engineering opportunities are an essential component of a robust education. Experiences in these areas not only develop crucial skills but also inspire and motivate students to greater performance in communication and mathematics skills. The STEM Leadership consultants believe that the best opportunities for students arise within contexts with rich opportunities for adult professional learning. In order to achieve the greatest outcomes for students, we nurture a motivation to learn and grow professionally by co-creating learning experiences that engage adults in practices focused on high-quality science learning. By bringing research on promising pedagogical practices, adult learning, teacher development and organizational change together with evidence and artifacts from the student and teacher experiences at your school, we are able to determine possible paths for your organizational growth.
At STEM Leadership consultants we have been on the forefront of science, technology and engineering programs in the classroom, as part of support programs, and partner organizations. We have helped our clients with curriculum support, professional learning, teacher induction programs, and next generation standards integration and implementation.

FOUNDER
Thom Reinhardt, Ed.D.
Over a decade of classroom science, engineering and mathematics teaching experience, Thom synthesized progressive pedagogical practices to engage students in rigorous STEM learning. His use of hands-on, project-based, and contextualized approaches integrated with social-emotional and culturally responsive awareness generated impressive student gains in urban high schools. By applying similar principles to engage adult learners, he has motivated groups of teachers and administrators to focus on the incredible potential of high-quality STEM programs. Recently, he has led nationally-recognized NGSS curriculum development projects, administrator professional science learning, and science pedagogy coursework. His recent doctoral research integrated these ideas to investigate teacher empowerment through the use of student learning artifacts.
